My pony is on 10g of Valerian a day. He's been on it for just under month and honestly the difference is noticeable. He gets very stressed in a stable and would box walk and be generally quite bolshy. In bad weather his stable would be a night mare as he would just mash his bed up with constant pacing.
He is quite an anxious pony but not nasty, I got the valerian because I wanted to try something affordable and I really wasn't convinced it would work.
I was wrong! After 10 days I went up to do evening feed and honestly thought he was ill because he was so quiet.
We have had several bouts of bad weather, strong winds, heavy rain, both of which would cause the box walking. Nothing! His stable remained tidy( ISH)
But the very best thing is he has retained his character, his little quirks haven't changed. The stress hass 99%gone and he is so much more relaxed.Every one has noticed, and because he is calmer so am I, neither of us are living on the edge all the time any more!

Only 5 days into using this but it does seem to have made spooky pony a little calmer fingers crossed another weekend and I should see a lot of difference in him

Seems to work well taking the edge off the spookieness. Can now lunge my horse in the arena he used to be so scared of

Seems to work for my horse. She is much more relaxed without losing her zest for life. She is still a forward ride. It is a joy to ride her without her being frightened of her own shadow
